Football Equipment

Westonka Youth Football is a parent sponsored equipment program. This means that parents can elect to purchase new or used equipment each season. It also allows parents to decide what type of helmet and equipment is preferred for your child. Parents have control on the condition of the equipment for your child each year.

Items that must be purchased by the parent include:
  • Gray All-In-One Football Pants
  • White Helmet with Hard Chin Strap
  • Shoulder Pads (football only)
  • Shoes (molded one piece cleats, no metal spikes)
  • Mouth Guard
  • Practice Jersey (white or red color)
  • Practice Pants (optional: white, red, black, or gray color)
  • Protective Cup (optional)

Uniforms:
Tackle Football Jerseys: This year WYF will be purchasing and collecting the uniforms at the conclusion of the season. WYF will collect a $60 check from each participant on the first night of evaluations. This check will not be cashed unless a participant fails to return the jersey at the conclusion of the season. Once the jersey is returned, WYF will return the original check back to the participant.

Flag Football League Shirts: Flag Football participants will receive a league shirt that they are able to keep at the conclusion of the season.

Families may purchase their equipment from any sporting goods retailer. However, it is important that players are properly fit for their equipment. If you are unable to attend the fitting night and will be purchasing equipment on your own, please use this reference information provided by USA Football:
